Search for a Data String

This command allows you to create a data ﬁ eld by searching the scanned data

for a data string that matches a data string speciﬁ ed in the formula. If a match

is found, the scanned data will be divided into three ﬁ elds: the data from the

search start point to the character before the searched data string, the data

string itself, and the data remaining.

SELECTION CODE: JG

Characters that Constitute the Data String to be Searched for

EXAMPLE:

In scanned data, to search for the data string ABCDE, enter:

... JG<ENTER>A<ENTER>B<ENTER>C<ENTER>

D<ENTER>E<ENTER> ...

This means that scanned data “1234567ABCDEFG” will be divided into three

ﬁ elds: 1234567 and ABCDE and FG.

Add a Data Field

This command allows you to add a character string to scanned data before

transmitting it to the host computer. The character string you add will be

transmitted as a separate data ﬁ eld. (This command is optional.)

Characters that Constitute the Data String to be Added

EXAMPLE:

In scanned data, to add one data ﬁ eld “abcd” to the scanned data 1234, enter:

... JJ<ENTER>a<ENTER>b<ENTER>c<ENTER>d<ENTER> ...

This means that additional ﬁ eld “abcd” can be added to output data string

abcd and 1234.
